Following the 2017 assault case in the Kerala film industry, the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC), coined the term #Avalkoppam, (“we stand with her") to support the survivor’s fight for justice, pushing for changes. Since then, conversations around abuse, accountability, and representation have become active, reflecting a growing willingness to stand with survivors.
